⬢ Basic Eligibility Criteria
To submit an application, the beneficiary must meet the following criteria:
- Must have the status of unemployed (valid unemployment card) at the time of application.
- Must have completed the personalized approach procedure and agreed on a digital Individual Action Plan (IAP) from DYPA.
- Must hold a Certificate of Attendance of a 21-hour Entrepreneurial Consulting Program (SAEP) by DYPA.
- Must not have participated in a DYPA New Freelance Professionals Program since 2008.
- Must be aged 18 to 60.
- Must not be in education, employment, or training.
*Male applicants must have completed military obligations.
⬢ Eligible Business Activities
Almost all new business activities are eligible, with a few exceptions. Indicatively, the following are not eligible: professions requiring available positions (notaries, bailiffs, etc.), businesses operating passenger/freight public-use vehicles (taxis, etc.), seasonal companies (canteens, kiosks, mobile units), franchise, shop-in-shop, agency networks, games of chance/e-gambling, businesses operating exclusively after 10 p.m., etc.
⬢ Grant Amount & Distribution
The grant amount is a lump sum of €17,000 and is distributed as follows:
- 1st installment €4,000 after business start at the Tax Office and issuance of the approval decision (Milestone A).
- 2nd installment €5,400 after six months of operation, upon verification (Milestone B).
- 3rd installment €5,400 after twelve months of operation, upon verification (Milestone C).
⬢ Eligible Expenses
The program no longer requires specific expense matching, as in previous years. For Milestones B and C (2nd & 3rd installments), a summary of revenues–expenses is required through the company’s accounting records (myData) to prove the use of the subsidy for business needs within the subsidized period.
⬢ Program Entry Process
Applications remain open until the 850 available spots (approved applications) are filled. Scoring is comparative, meaning applications are ranked and approved in descending order of scoring.
The business start can take place after submitting the funding application and no later than 60 days from the date of positive evaluation (approval).
The business must operate in the Regional Units of Kastoria, Serres, Achaia, Rhodes, or the Municipalities of Perama, Keratsini–Drapetsona, Salamina.
The action will be implemented in cycles if the beneficiaries of the 4th Cycle are fewer than 850 and provided the budget has not been exhausted.
The total program budget is €12,580,000 and is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility.
